Most engraving files are pretty straight forward: colored graphics are engraved, and white space is not. 3D engraving; however, is a little different because it’s based on the shading in the file. Darker shades engrave deeper than lighter shades, which results in an engraving full of dimension because it’s engraved at a variety of depths.
