Direct Edge Media increased speed and throughput with its new Onset X3, a high-productivity UV flatbed printer distributed exclusively in North America by Fujifilm Graphic Systems Division.

Brian Lukis and Matt Hartloff knew they were on to something. While working together at an injection molding company, Hartloff had developed a spherical structure that could be easily assembled and disassembled. Lukis, who is also a 360-degree photographer, said, “what if we printed a 360-degree photo on there?”

As we drew closer to PRINTING United, I began to list out products on my wish list. We have multiple businesses under our roof — commercial, photographic, apparel, and promotional products — so our needs span a wide range for information. PRINTING United has been the one spot where all these categories come together.

Artisan Complete, a Toronto-area print provider, is victorious in its quest to win more work with a trio of presses from Fujifilm, featuring two Onset X3s, and an Onset R40i (also known as QR40). 

Agfa (Booth 8242) is bringing several inkjet engines and software solutions to PRINTING United. Its systems let users print a variety of eye-popping displays, point-of-purchase materials, billboards, vehicle graphics, and backlit signage up to 125" wide.

Madovar Packaging worked with All Graphic Supplies, a qualified Mimaki dealer, to purchase its first Mimaki printer, a UJF-6042 MkII. The flatbed allowed the company to produce customized gift boxes with both white and clear ink in less time.

Collazo Group, a Puerto Rico-based print service provider, rebuilt its business with Fujifilm’s Inca Onset X1-LT months after Hurricane Maria, a Category 4 storm, devastated several islands in the Caribbean.

There is non-stop excitement in the Roland DGA booth (4616) at PRINTING United 2019. The company is showcasing a host of new devices, including printer/cutters, flatbed UV, dye-sublimation, and direct-to-garment printers, plus advanced laser and rotary engravers.

EFI’s exhibit in booth 8233 features the VUTEk h5 and the North American debut of the EFI Pro 30f dedicated flatbed printer.
