The versatility and performance of the Xaar 1201 printhead was showcased in the new hybrid printer from d.gen, launched at FESPA Munich, Europe’s largest specialty print exhibition, held between 14th to 17th May.
The Arete Combo from d.gen is capable of printing on both transfer paper and directly on to fabric. Equipped with Xaar’s industry leading 1201 printheads, the Arete Combo delivers high speed and high-resolution printing and is available in six color and four color print options.
d.gen is a global leader of digital textile printer manufacturers based in Korea. Established in 1978, d.gen started a new business in 2002 focusing on investing in digital textile printing solutions based on the world’s best technologies for outdoor signage, graphic arts and textile printing.
High productivity is ensured with the Arete Combo, which recognizes the continuous change of weight and diameter in media through its jumbo feeder, while its flexible control system enables printing of over 1500m2 every day. High capacity media management also ensures continual ‘non-stop’ printing, without the need to reload media.
Xaar 1201’s Thin Film Piezo Silicon MEMS technology is capable of jetting a range of relevant fluids (EcoSolvent, UV-curable and Aqueous) for wide-format graphics (WFG), direct-to-garment (DTG) and textile applications. With its 1280 nozzles and capability to produce print with an apparent resolution of over 1440 dpi, the Xaar 1201 delivers high print speed and high drop placement accuracy.
“We used the Xaar 1201 as it was the best printhead in its class,” said Bruno Ruggiero, Sales Director at d.gen. “With 1280 nozzles per color the Arete Combo can now print at 1200 dpi high resolution with only 2 passes and at a speed of 80m2 per hour, offering significant productivity advantages to customers.”
“Overall we are very impressed with the high print quality of the results achieved and how the Xaar 1201 printhead’s robust design delivers reliable, cost effective and exceptional quality print to the Arete Combo for both transfer paper and fabric printing.”
“The Arete Combo is the latest d.gen printer to build on the Xaar 1201 printhead, following the launch of the Papyrus Grande and Papyrus Arete last year,” comments Gerard Winn, Senior Product Manager at Xaar. “We are delighted to see continued growth in textile applications by d.gen, confirming the quality speed of the Xaar 1201, and how this was recognized by all visitors to their stand at FESPA.”
d.gen will also be exhibiting at ITMA Barcelona between 20th to 26th June 2019, the world’s largest International textile and garment technology exhibition, in Hall H3 booth #C108 – where they will showcase the latest version of the Papyrus Grande, a six color hybrid dye sublimation printer able to print on both fabric and transfer paper and equipped with Xaar’s 1201 printhead.
