SGIA Expo’s session on “Printing Artwork for Digital/Hybrid Printing,” presented by Thomas Trimingham, product marketing manager for The M&R Companies, will focus on how to prepare artwork on Adobe Photoshop quickly and efficiently. The session will be held today at 10:30 am in room N116 and it is recommended that attendees have basic Photoshop skills.
The session aims to help attendees become both quicker and more efficient in their use of Photoshop.
“Digital printing is more and more about the quality of the artwork than other printing styles,” Trimingham says.
The session will focus on four steps to help improve both the speed and quality of the participant’s Photoshop artwork. The four steps the session will stress are adjusting art for low resolutions, removing or editing backgrounds, color adjusting images and creating underbases.
Trimingham believes that the ability to print higher quality work allows companies to change how their customers view them.
“Learning how to properly prepare artwork for these printing styles will elevate a business from a commodity that can only work with what is submitted, to a business that has loyal customers who expect their submitted artwork will come out the best it can be,” Trimingham says.
Trimingham hopes that the presentation both helps people improve their skills and presents the value that the improvement can bring.
“Properly printing images for digital and hybrid printing will save time and money by avoiding many of the common issues that submitted artwork presents,” Trimingham says.
