SGIA recently honored Stahls’ Transfer Express with its “2019 Sustainable Business Recognition Award” as part of an annual program that acknowledges “companies’ initiatives in the previous year that reduced their environmental footprints and/or improved business efficiency and employee safety and health,” according to SGIA.
Transfer Express partnered with SACS Consulting in 2017 to conduct a detailed threat assessment for the company’s facilities. Upgrades were made to transfer the monitoring of alarms, cameras and building access control to the company’s headquarters in Michigan.
Employees stated how they felt more secure in parking lots and in the building. More improvements are planned to further improve staff security and safety.
The prepress room incorporated a new auto dryer, which decreased the amount of time it takes an employee to load and reload screens for drying by 30 percent and increased production output from 17 screens an hour to 45 screens an hour.
Transfer Express is committed to continue to search for new ways to decrease energy and waste and increase safety awareness and security within its company.
