Effective July 1, 2022, The Graphics Shop (A Hackworth Company) has acquired Balco Sign & Safety in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The Graphics Shop is a 10-year-old, family and locally owned small business based in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Graphics Shop is a SWaM certified sign shop, providing graphic design, vehicle wraps (3M MCS Certified), fleet graphics, banners, yard signs, window graphics, building signs, wayfinding/ADA signs, decals, installation services and industrial screen printing to companies throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
“We are excited about the opportunities this acquisition opens up for The Graphics Shop. Balco has built a strong account base and reputation across Virginia. This purchase fits into our strategic plans to grow our brand throughout the state. Balco has a niche in the safety signage market unique to our area. We plan to continue the success of that model but also look to grow the business by offering Balco clients additional services such as installation, design and wide-format wrap and signage solutions,” said Charles G. Hackworth II, VP of Operations for The Graphics Shop.
Balco has been serving customers since 1969. Balco customers will not see any drastic or immediate changes to daily operations. Greg Brickles, former owner of Balco, will remain on staff. Joseph Perry, a former Hackworth employee, has been hired back to handle customer service and client production needs. The current location in Virginia Beach, VA and phone number, 757-499-9415, will remain the same. Over the next few days and weeks, clients will see a migration to The Graphics Shop website (www.tgsva.com), billing system, email addresses (signsvb@tgsva.com) and file transfer programs. The Graphics Shop goal is to make this a seamless transition for everyone involved.
