Superhero Sized Movie Poster Has Quick Turnaround
When Global Printing Enterprises needed a quick turnaround for a project promoting the new “Aquaman” superhero movie, the Mississauga, Ontario-based company used rolls of Drytac materials to get the job done.
In just five days, Global Printing Enterprises brought the 250-ft. movie poster from site visit to installation.
“The biggest challenge was coordinating the project with the tight deadline,” explains Carlo Toscano, president, Global Printing Enterprises, in a release. “Projects like these should take two weeks to come together. We impressed ourselves in achieving this print and install in just five days.”
To produce the work, the large-format printing company used an HP 3000 latex printer and two rolls of 6-mil Drytac ReTac Smooth 150, a white polymeric printable PVC film coated with Drytac’s ReTac ultra-removable adhesive technology to allow for easy installation, repositioning and removal, according to the press release. Not only is the material compatible with UV, solvent, eco-solvent and latex ink technologies, it has a Class 0 fire rating.
“Drytac ReTac Smooth 150 was recommended to us for its concealing abilities, especially on drywall with taped seams, with no lamination required,” Toscano says. “Installers commented that they liked using this product as it was easy to use and install.”
Global Printing Enterprises also uses other Drytac products for its range of applications.
“We like the ability to custom-make products,” Toscano says. “We have many approved projects for 2019 in which we will utilize Drytac products, such as interior wall graphics films for the interior décor business — this seems to be one of the largest growing market segments in the large-format printing industry.”
