Summa America to Present New Solutions at ISA 2019

Over the past couple of years, soft signage has gained a prominent position in the sign and graphics industry. Summa acknowledged the many benefits too, and developed new finishing and cutting solutions to enhance the print and cut workflow for soft signage. In addition, another industry of special focus for Summa is sportswear, for which the sensitive and easily distorted textiles require a different way of processing. At ISA 2019, April 24-26 in Las Vegas, Summa America will demonstrate new advanced flatbed and laser cutting systems for both industries at booth 2255.

Versatile soft signage meets cutting versatility

Soft signage offers versatile solutions, suited to a large variety of applications in different industries, such as flags, backlit light boxes and large signage on exhibitions. The use of soft signage guarantees an easy setup and a clean appearance. Moreover, soft signage end products are easily stackable and don't take up much space during transportation.

When handling these textiles, the large format digital printer will be first in line. Often, these textile printers are equipped with a working width of 3.2 m (10’ 5”), ideal to print large rolls of textiles.

To improve the synergy with the large format digital printer market, Summa recently launched two new sizes of flatbed finishing cutters, matching the 3.2 m (10’ 5”) working width of the textile printer perfectly. All existing tools and modules within the F Series gamut are designed to fit each size of the flatbed range, the new F3232 and F3220 sizes inclusive. This ensures the highest versatility to process all kinds of material and offer numerous high-end solutions to the sign making, textile, and digital print industries.

Contactless cutting while processing sportswear

A different cutting process applies to sportswear, due to the sensitivity of the textiles and distortions that can easily occur. Therefore contactless cutting with a laser is the ideal method to process sportswear with high precision. Recently, Summa launched the first Summa branded L1810 laser cutter, built to seamlessly meet the requirements for cutting textiles for sportswear.

Enhanced productivity with the 1.8 m conveyor system for continuous production of roll materials.
High accuracy thanks to the intelligent camera system, enabling immediate compensation of deformations in the cutting vector.
Automated creation of cutting vectors with the optional advanced Vision system, which quickly scans the material to create vectors, without the need of a cutting file.

Optimized workflows with GoProduce software

At the show, we will be driving all flatbed cutting systems with Summa’s new software GoProduce. The intuitive GoProduce software, available on all F Series models, can be implemented quickly, without the need for hardware installation.

One of its main benefits is the tailorable material database, which is able to automatically select the tool and settings, based on the chosen material to cut. By default, the material database includes a gamut of materials, tools and functions, which in addition, can be adjusted to the user’s needs at any given time.

Discover Summa’s True Tangential Technology
