Victor Peña, president of OmniPrint International (Booth 2210), has seen firsthand the way the printing market has changed. At “Domination in the New Economy” on Wednesday, he shared what he’s seen and how OmniPrint has stayed ahead of the game with its direct-to-garment (DTG) printing equipment.
Customers today want personalized products, fast shipping, and print-on-demand at low minimums, said Peña, especially as Amazon continues to redefine what it means to be a modern business. Smaller apparel shops (“micro brands,” as Peña called them) have found ways to thrive by focusing on personalization and speed, delivering product directly to customers.
These shops need the ability to create an image, print it on a shirt or on a wide range of products, and have it ready to ship, all immediately. They need the ability to manage an on-demand workflow.
DTG has been one solution. Peña highlighted OmniPrint’s Cheetah Industrial DTG Printer, which features true one-pass printing technology for fast print speeds at top quality. The printer is enabled with Würk, a print business management software platform that helps businesses get a cohesive overview of their operations by simplifying the order process and automating the printing process.
This kind of setup increases production, which in turn increases profitability — just the kind of solution today’s micro brands and other print shops need to dominate in the new economy.
