Sawgrass’ TruePix CLASSIC Sublimation Transfer Paper Named SGIA 2018 Product of the Year

CHARLESTON, SC — September 19, 2018 — TruePix CLASSIC transfer paper for sublimation printing from Sawgrass has been named SGIA’s 2018 Product of the Year in the Media - Dye Sublimation transfer paper category. Sawgrass will be presenting a full portfolio of innovation in sublimation technology at SGIA Expo in Las Vegas, Oct. 18 to 20, at Booth 3739.

Suitable for use on both hard and soft substrates, TruePix CLASSIC is a “smart” transfer paper, designed for ultra-high levels of dye release during the pressing process. Dye solids begin to sublimate later than with other papers, which give the substrate time to expand before color transfer takes place. TruePix CLASSIC sublimation transfer paper is specifically engineered for ultra-high levels of dye release during the pressing process, resulting in rich transfer of color to substrates.

The paper’s smooth surface aids in delivering high-definition images and is specially designed to hold the inks on the surface without the paper becoming too wet and smudging due to saturation. TruePix CLASSIC paper also boasts virtually no shrinkage when used in a heat press, an important feature for minimizing ghosting during transfer.

The new Ultra-HD FLEX eight-color sublimation ink set from Sawgrass for the Virtuoso HD Product Decorating System featuring VJ 628 printers has been named SGIA’s 2018 Product of the Year for Digital Inks – Textile in the under 24-inch width category. These two honors come on top of Sawgrass’ 2017 Product of the Year win for its SubliJet-HD FLEX ink set, and three awards in 2015 for the SubliJet-HD’s CMYK and Pro Photo digital ink sets and the VJ 628 printer in the Roll-to-Roll Dye Sublimation on Metal category.
