Roland DGA Introduces New Direct-to-Garment, UV Printers at Live-Stream Event
Productivity and growth were key takeaways from Roland’s live-streamed product launch on Oct. 13. Split into two half-hour segments, the company showcased its new Texart XT-640S multi-station direct-to-garment printer to kick off the event, followed by a presentation on the VersaUV LEC2 S-Series UV flatbed printers.
The first session was led by Lily Hunter, senior product manager of e-commerce and supplies, and Kitt Jones, product manager, both of Roland, who highlighted some of the key features of the Texart XT-640S. For the virtual attendees of the event looking to expand their current apparel decorating services, or even entry-level businesses, Hunter pointed out three key selling points of the machine: flexibility, versatility, and productivity.
While Hunter noted these three factors, it was the printer demonstration run by Jones that called attention to the productivity of the machine. Jones highlighted the fact that the printer comes with eight platens that can be loaded at the same time or users can mix and match various sizes or number of garments being printed.
The second session was all about the VersaUV LEC2 S-Series, a family of UV printers that can direct print on both flexible and rigid substrates. Led by Jay Roberts, product manager for UV products at Roland, productivity was once again a highlight. Roberts noted that each machine offers a different size for productivity and scalability. While there are some shared features between the machines, such as a height clearance of up to 7.87”, each one has its own features designed for different uses.
Going beyond productivity, Roberts also pointed out the “nearly limitless” market opportunities the UV printer series can open for print shops, including backlit signage, fine arts display, and the packaging industry, among others.
Capping off both live presentations were Q&A sessions where viewers were invited to ask questions via the chat feature. For those whose questions weren’t answered in the given timeframe or who want additional information, Roland DGA encourages you to visit www.rolanddga.com.
