Alex Pery, CEO of Right Way Signs in Chicago, IL, has evolved the company from sign painting and murals into a wide array of wide-format digital printing applications, which has been enhanced by the installation of a Canon (Booth N1009) Colorado 1630 roll-to-roll printer.
His company made this transition because its core sign and mural application business was only going to take them so far. As part of this process, Pery and the team interviewed customers about services they were looking for and would be interested in. Key services and applications they discovered included signage, wallcoverings, and vinyl prints. So they began adding these services over time. Also, as offices started to open up from the pandemic, they began focusing on corporate redesigns, fueling demand for interior décor printing, and found the quality of the Colorado far surpassed what they were able to do with their existing eco-solvent device.
Today, Right Way Signs uses the Colorado to produce wall wraps (adhesive backed) and wall coverings (more expensive, traditional backing material). Key features they really like about the Colorado are the two media rolls, and UV LED technology for instant curing. The Colorado has helped to positively impact their business by making it easier for ownership to rest comfortably at night because they now have the confidence that they are printing a superior product and won’t be impacted by print quality issues. Also, they are using the Colorado to pursue larger customers like sporting venues, which will help them to grow and diversify outside of their small customer niche.
