FAIRFAX, Va. — February 22, 2019 — Industry convergence was the topic of the night when Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) EVP James Martin spoke to the group at the Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) this month .
“We have member companies that have been going from sheet-fed commercial printers to adding technologies like large-format textile, wide-format, hosting websites and becoming engaged in everything that has to do with visual communication,” says GLGA Illinois director William J. Gibson. “They’re engaging in convergence. And as the word kept coming up, they understood that PRINTING United is where they need to be.”
PRINTING United (Dallas; October 23 – 25, 2019) is a new event presented in partnership by SGIA and NAPCO Media. With the phenomenon of convergence as its centerpiece, PRINTING United will offer solutions from suppliers and manufacturers in market segments including garment, graphic, packaging, commercial, functional and in-plant printing.
“James gave my members data that showed them what’s happening, and got them excited and thinking about the directions they should be looking to go,” Gibson says. “PRINTING United will give printers the opportunity to see all these bits and pieces of industry together and unite the segments of our graphic community under one roof.”
