OmniPrint International is showcasing its new Cheetah industrial direct-to-garment (DTG) printer, which prints up to 1,800 dpi at extremely high speeds. At the same time, it allows users to print on a wider range of materials, including 100 percent polyester and cotton/poly blends. Its True OnePass technology allows dark garments to be fully completed without the need to return to do the CMYK layer. The white printheads and color heads are tuned to work together to print the base and colors simultaneously so that each garment being printed is finished in one pass.
The Cheetah’s industrial bulk ink system saves money by eliminating costly cartridges. The combination of buying ink in bulk containers coupled with the highest quality Direct RIP Software reduces production costs.
The Cheetah’s individual platens can be configured to work independently. This means that when an operator is unloading one garment, the printer is busy printing the next garment, thus increasing productivity.
To automate the DTG process, OmniPrint has partnered with Wurk, a comprehensive web-based production management solution. Debuting at the Expo, the platform enables OmniPrint customers to set up a website that their customers can use to order garments. They pick the size, color and upload their image.
“The order automatically flows into our system,” explained OmniPrint’s Edgar Pena, at the booth yesterday.
“You avoid the whole bottleneck of job prep time,” Pena said.
