BARCELONA, SPAIN — July 27, 2018 — A wide-open gateway to the North American graphic display market is what MATIC S.A. expects to find as an exhibitor at PRINTING United (Dallas, Texas, October 23-25, 2019).
Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, MATIC has been manufacturing automated finishing systems for the textile printing industry since 1969. Christina Lefebvre, the company’s Area Sales Manager for North America, says exhibiting at PRINTING United will enable MATIC to connect with distributors as well as end-using customers for its latest solutions.
MATIC makes precision equipment that cuts, welds, sews, and handles textiles in applications including signage, awnings, blinds and shades, and draperies. In the signage segment, notes Lefebvre, only automated finishing systems can match the high productivity of today’s textile imaging devices. Without equally efficient finishing, she says, the plant would be forced to “hire an army or work weekends” to keep up.
At PRINTING United, MATIC will demonstrate what its automated systems can do for the production of soft signage, garments, and other printed products to be showcased at the event, which is the first trade show organized to address all segments of the graphic communications value chain. Lefebvre says visitors to the MATIC stand will see, among other solutions, a “very, very unique” laser cutting system in its North American debut.
She adds that the market for garments and soft signage has been “booming” in recent years, with increasing numbers of commercial printers and in-plants equipping themselves to enter it. This is consistent with PRINTING United’s theme of convergence: printers moving beyond their primary offerings to seek new profit opportunities in other print market segments.
Lefebvre adds that as “the biggest show in North America” for suppliers to these markets, PRINTING United is a highly attractive venue for a European vendor like MATIC. “We hope to meet with many people whose businesses can benefit from getting to know us better,” she says.
A joint production of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) and NAPCO Media, PRINTING United is the successor to SGIA Expo, the industry’s premier showcase for graphic and visual communications.
It will follow SGIA Expo’s final edition in Las Vegas (October 18-20, 2018) and will be accompanied by BRAND United, a co-located learning experience aimed at brand owners, marketers, and other consumers of the B2B products and services that PRINTING United will showcase.
