Every year SGIA survey’s businesses in the printing industry and creates their state of the industry report. This year, Olga Dorokhina, Research Coordinator at SGIA (Booth 1961), and Andy Paparozzi, Chief Economist at SGIA, will present the findings of this report at the 2018 SGIA Expo. This session, “SGIA’s State of the Industry Report,” will take place today at 9 am in room N120.
The presentation will discuss trends in the industry that the report picked up on. These trends stretch from markets and products served by printers to the direction of customer spending, capital investments and other drivers in the industry’s economic sphere. Dorokhina and Paparozzi will discuss these findings and how they could have an effect on the future of the industry.
“Where they are heading, why and what it will all mean for the economy over the next 12 to 24 months,” Paparozzi says.
Along with discussing these trends, they will lay out where the industry is and the different baselines that companies in different parts of the industry should be looking at to judge their position.
“You have to measure yourself against the industry to understand where you are and where you are heading,” Dorokhina says.
They’ll also discuss the challenges that the report indicated exist in the industry. They’ll look at these issues and see how they are evolving, whether they are getting better or worse, how they could change the industry and how
businesses should react to them.
“The earlier you can identify turning points in the economy the more effectively you can prepare for them,” Paparozzi says.
