Kornit Digital Showcases New Technology and Neon Inks
Gabi Seligsohn, CEO, Kornit Digital (Booth 1617), illustrated how the current climate of the retail and fashion industries are making way for opportunity during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
As consumer demand changes, so too do the technological needs. Seligsohn explained that there are five main industry needs: shortruns; customization; online enablement; versatility and agility and sustainability. The solution is to adapt to the change.
He explained that as more retail stores close, the industry is shifting from “retail to eTAIL,” a shift enhanced by ease of online shopping and ease of the return. The rise in online shopping is causing a fundamental shift in how manufacturers do business, Seligsohn explained, necessitating a business model that embraces the motto, “first sell, then print.”
“We’re moving from supply and demand to demand and supply,” he said.
Digital printing, he suggested, can enable the online revolution with faster time to market and flexibility.
Kornit now offers neon pink and yellow ink for its roll-to-roll Kornit Allegro true digital solution for direct-to-fabric textile printing. According to Seligsohn, the new colors provide a wider color gamut than any other pigment printing solution with a wider application variety, which can ultimately help users expand their offerings and enter new markets.
Also being shown at Kornit’s booth is the 6-color Kornit Vulcan, which, Kornit believes, is the first direct to garment printer that can replace screen. It offers a low cast per print for run lengths between 50 and 500 garments and can run up to 250 garments per hour.
