KODAK 3D Printing will announce their new Design to Print Service, tomorrow at Rapid + TCT Asia. Already a player in the global 3D market with the KODAK Portrait 3D Printer, a desktop printer targeted at the professional sector, and a comprehensive range of KODAK 3D Printing Filaments, KODAK 3D Printing are expanding their ecosystem with a new range of services designed to assist their users in transforming their idea into a 3D printed object.
KODAK 3D Printing, an ecosystem created by Smart International and under license by Kodak, is expanding their services over the next year, in order to provide a full 360 3D printing solution to businesses. The Design to Print Service gives access to experts in their 3D printing team, who can help troubleshoot tasks that may take too much time or require specialized knowledge.
The team of design experts will optimize the client’s model for a guaranteed print result on a KODAK Portrait 3D Printer. Two services are included: a 3D Designer Service and Print Profile Customization. In the first, the company’s designers create an optimized STL print file from any non-3D printable model. This may involve modifying the original CAD or STL file. With Print Profile Customization, a 3D printable model of any complex geometry will have its print setting optimized for a guaranteed print result on the customer’s KODAK Portrait. This may involve any or all of the following: healing the STL file, simplifying it, segmenting and re-orienting it, and adding manual supports. The objective is to reduce print time, maximize print quality, adjust print tolerances, and set the Gcode parameters depending on the print materials. The projects are managed directly through the KODAK 3D Cloud and designers are on hand for live support and to test the final part.
With availability of the KODAK Portrait 3D Printer and Kodak Filaments worldwide, KODAK 3D Printing are aiming to provide support and assistance to their users to navigate the 3D printing universe. This is the first of the new services and products to be launched in 2019, with more to be announced later in the year.
More information about the Design to Print Service can be found at the Rapid + TCT tradeshow this week, with the expert team available at the Kodak Booth #107. Any purchase of a KODAK Portrait at Rapid will include $500 worth of credit for the Design to Print Service. Credit can be redeemed against the service, which costs from 45 USD per hour.
