FAIRFAX, VA. – November 28, 2018 — The industry will have to wait a little longer to learn GPA’s specific plan for exhibiting at PRINTING United (Dallas, Texas, October 23-25, 2019). But, Mary Ann Geers, the company’s SR Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Strategy, reveals that GPA intends to “ramp up our presence at the event” as a leading supplier of substrates for graphic and packaging applications in all printing processes.
What’s attractive to GPA as an exhibitor at PRINTING United is the way in which the event will add the commercial and packaging segments – GPA’s traditional customer base – to the specialty graphics audiences delivered by SGIA Expo, the trade show that PRINTING United succeeds. Geers says that in this blended atmosphere, commercial printers and packagers will find new inspiration “to innovate what they can do across all the OEM platforms” they are using.
GPA, part of the Global Fedrigoni Network, provides substrates for an extremely broad range of liquid ink, dry toner, inkjet, laser, offset, and flexographic applications. “We sell the media for all of that,” says Geers, noting that at PRINTING United, the company’s promotional strategy will be to focus its portfolio of products and services on a specific, single market, rich in opportunity for print service providers. This outreach, to be announced in more detail prior to the show, will take place in a new and rebranded exhibit booth that reflects GPA’s intention to scale up its trade show presence, Geers adds.
The backdrop will be the all-new PRINTING United, a joint venture of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) and NAPCO Media. Carrying on and expanding the mission of SGIA Expo, the industry’s premier showcase for graphic and visual communications, PRINTING United will present a new perspective on profiting in segments from garment to graphic, packaging to commercial, and industrial to in-plant.
The theme of PRINTING United is convergence – the opportunities that print service providers now have to branch beyond their core businesses into new and profitable print markets. It’s a trend that GPA is seeing among its own customers, according to Geers.
“Printers, along with the world’s most dynamic brands, are looking for innovation,” she says. “They know that innovation is what’s going to make the difference.” Geers adds that she expects print service providers to come to PRINTING United eager to find out how they can differentiate themselves with the equipment they have and the diversified collection of substrates that GPA has to offer them.
