FESPA, which took place from May 31 through June 3 in Berlin, Germany, saw the launch of a range of new products. Below is a guide to some of the products and innovations that came out of this year's expo.
The swissQprint Kudu
In a totally unexpected move, swissQprint unveiled a new printer model at FESPA 2022. Kudu is a 3.2×2 meter high-end UV-LED printer that complements the existing flatbed range – Nyala, Impala, and Oryx. Read more about the Kudu here.
EFI’s Advanced Digital Print Portfolio Lead with Innovation
Electronics For Imaging, Inc. delivered efficiency, quality, and sustainability to help customers drive profits and win new business. EFI products featured at FESPA represented new and highly advanced digital print solutions from the company’s portfolio. Kongsberg and OneVision's Finishing Workflow
Kongsberg PCS and OneVision teamed up at FESPA and gave visitors the chance to see first-hand how a smooth end-to-end workflow delivering consistent data can maximize efficiency for digital finishing. Read more about the integrated automation system here.
ImagePerfect's sustainable self-adhesive film
Signmakers, graphic producers, and distributors experienced the IP EverGreen, a new portfolio of eco-friendly self-adhesive films that add to its comprehensive range of materials for sign-makers and graphics producers. To learn more, click here.
SAi Launched Flexi 22 Software
SAi announced the launch of Flexi 22, a fully-updated and more powerful version of its highly-successful signmaking software. The new solution - the only all-in-one design, print, and cut software for sign and print providers - is engineered to further increase productivity and workflow efficiencies for users, and was demonstrated live for the first time at FESPA. Kornit's Presentation of the Future of Sustainable Production
Kornit challenged the digital textile production status quo with a first-of-its-kind experience at FESPA with an integrated showcase of its latest innovations of industry-first solutions. These solutions presented the future of new possibilities for high-quality and productivity of on-demand, sustainable production, including the merging of the physical and virtual worlds. Brett Martin Showcased its Portfolio
Brett Martin showcased its full range of transparent and foam PVC, flat rigid substrates at FESPA. A range of Foamalux solutions were exhibited including Foamalux light, which is optimized for digital printing; Foamalux White; all six colors of Foamalux Color; all seven shades of high gloss Foamalux Ultra; and two environmentally friendlier foam PVC products – Foamalux Eco and Foamalux Xtra. FujiFilm Had Several Announcements
At FESPA 2022, Fujifilm launched two new wide-format printers - one a new flatbed press, and the other the company's first entry in the growing hybrid printer category. Fujifilm unveiled the Acuity Prime L as part of its ‘Blueprint Live’ concept. Like the Acuity Prime 20 and 30 announced in 2021, and also being showcased at FESPA, Fujifilm’s stylish new Acuity Prime L flatbed is designed with the user in mind and built to offer exceptional ROI. It will be commercially available in late 2022.
The company also announced its entry into the high-end wide format hybrid market with the unveiling of the Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED. The machine will be commercially available from the autumn.

Mimaki Makes International Expo Debut
Making its international tradeshow debut at FESPA 2022, Mimaki showcased the print-only JV330-160 and the integrated printer and cutter CJV330-160 that deliver higher productivity while setting new standards in print quality. With workflow efficiency at the top of Mimaki’s and its customers’ agenda, in-built cleaning mechanisms and monitoring features ensure seamless production and allow for longer running times. Both models also feature a newly designed unwinding system that allows three rolls of media to be loaded simultaneously, greatly reducing the time and manpower required to change print media. Agfa Opened a Chest of new Options and Possibilities
Agfa highlighted additional possibilities for the current product lines, new products, and spectacular options. To start with, Agfa’s Jeti Tauro H3300 LED printers are now available with a varnish printing option. The Agfa varnish allows not only for the embellishment of a part of the print but also a full flood option that covers the entire print. To find out what else Agfa highlighted, click here.
The Durst Group Showcased Production Excellence
Durst presented its P5 large-format printing systems and software solutions at FESPA in Berlin under the motto "Production Excellence". With the new introduction of the Durst P5 500, Durst is once again setting the benchmark in the top class of digital large-format printing. To read on, click here.
Elitron Launches a Range of Products
Elitron launched the new, patented, twin 45-degree cutting module. The blade is the latest patented tool for 2022 from Elitron. To read on, click here.
In addition to the cutting module, Elitron also unveiled an Automatic Milling Tool Changer. The 3kW Milling Tool Changer comes with 3 different milling tools to ensure all milling needs are met, without having to manually change the tools between jobs. Find out more about it here.
Elitron also presented its new Automatic Feeder and Patented Seeker System Camera. At the expo, the Automatic Feeding System was in action, together with the incorporated Seeker System from the underside, SDS, which complements the existing dual-camera system to add a further camera underneath the tabletop, to scan the materials directly from the underside.
