The Center for Excellence in Surface Imaging at Thomas Jefferson University is an advanced digital printing research facility (formerly the Center for Excellence in Digital Inkjet Printing of Textiles launched in 2000 at Philadelphia University, one of the first textile institutions in the U.S. in 1884 as the Philadelphia Textile School). The center focuses on creating imagery in various physical forms using a variety of digital printing technologies, including "direct surface imaging" on porous and non-porous substrates and "fabrication printing" with aqueous, organic solvent, UV colorants through material deposition and subtraction printing technologies (laser and 2.5D printing). We aim to democratize digital printing technologies to enhance and improve the professional imagining industry.
