WFI: What made you decide to attend this year's Expo?
Dalley: I’m not the usual Expo attendee. My perception is that most attendees will are involved in the production and manufacturing process. In my business development role, I’m interested in innovative product ideas. While I enjoy learning about leading-edge technologies headed into print shops, I take more enjoyment talking with vendors about applications they are discussing or seeing in the market. They often see things from a different perspective, and that’s valuable.
WFI: For returning attendees, what brings you back?
Dalley: The industry is always moving. It is important to maintain relationships with vendor contacts. Those people have experience and ideas that are valuable to our company. The Expo brings everyone together in one place, which makes visiting easy… and a good use of time.
WFI: How do you plan and make the most of your time at the Expo?
Dalley: I should do more ahead of time to arrange meetings with known contacts. In any case, I’ll attend with multiple people from our company. We’ll also attend some association meetings that will be held in conjunction with the Expo. It’s great to share knowledge with other like-minded people.
WFI: How do you hope attending will impact your business/career moving forward?
Dalley: Our business is in growth mode as we are finding success in some different verticals. If I can glean additional ideas from the conference experience and put them into practice, it can only enhance my marketability, both within and without our company walls.
