SGIA (Booth 1961) and IT Strategies released a joint research report earlier this year highlighting how digital technology is currently used in industrial printing markets. Mark Hanley, founder and president of IT Strategies, will discuss the findings of the report over two sessions at SGIA Expo 2018. The second of the two sessions “Digital Technologies in Industrial Printing Markets: Wide-Format and Textiles” is today at 12 pm in room N120.
The aim of the report and the two sessions is to analyze how digital technologies are being used in key industrial printing markets. Some of the markets they looked at were labels, direct-to-shape, decorative, textile and display graphics. Hanley will discuss both the challenges and the opportunities for digital adoption.
The second session, focused on the wide-format and textiles markets, will discuss the factors that went into the reports, such as how satisfied CEOs are with their moves into digital printing, how customers have responded to digital printing and what types of products have been moved over to digital print, among others. Hanley will take these findings and share the conclusions he has drawn from them.
“The diversity of digital graphics markets and the way they allow re-definition of value upwards,” Hanley says. “Also, the very long growth curves they tend to generate and the richness of what yet lies ahead as technology develops.”
