While the Expo floor is certainly a major draw for attendees at this year’s PRINTING United event, it’s not the only event taking place. Earlier this week, several companies took advantage of PRINTING United UX to host their own branded company events at the convention center, allowing them to focus on their own agenda before seamlessly moving their staff and attendees on to experience all the Expo has to offer.
“PRINTING United UX is a platform for exhibitors and industry applications we partner with to have their own meetings for customers, users, and members," notes Frank Tueckmantel, EVP business development, PRINTING United Alliance. “The idea behind it is for any company that cannot or doesn’t want to have [the expense and travel time] of a meeting do it together with the Expo. We have a ‘white glove’ experience for the organizers.”
Charlotte Tueckmantel, the general manager at eProductivity Software, notes that the experience of bringing their user group to PRINTING United UX has been “really, really good.” She continues, “Historically, we had training sessions with our Print Smith Vision community, and we were really missing that, and they were missing that. Being able to have this event here has allowed them to maximize their travel dollars, get the training they’re looking for, and then tomorrow head to the show. It has just really been a win-win for us and for our customers.”
Companies participating in PRINTING United UX were given private rooms, along with all of the technology needed to present their own content to their users, members, or customers. In addition, several keynote speakers are on hand giving updates on the industry as a whole to all of the participating groups. They were also provided food and beverage service, and had the PRINTING United team on hand throughout the events to help with any questions.
“If they are traveling to the Expo anyway,” notes Frank Tueckmantel, “PRINTING United UX can save them an extra flight and travel time. They can come a day or two earlier to the show, and that means they don’t have to come out yet another week during the year, which is more time away from their businesses.”
Mark Schlimme, VP, Marketing, SCREEN Americas (Booth N1625), says that this is the first user group meeting for the company, and there was “a mixture of excitement and anxiety” around hosting an event such as this, but that turnout was good. “Partnering with PRINTING United UX just made too much sense this first year,” he notes. “It’s been such a relief to have everything taken care of, to have the registration taken care of. It really allowed us to just focus on content for our customers.”
