EFI’s exhibit in booth 8233 features the VUTEk h5 — an award-winning126" hybrid flatbed/roll-to-roll LED inkjet printer — and the North American debut of the EFI Pro 30f dedicated flatbed printer.
EFI is also highlighting the new EFI IQ technology for wide- and superwide-format printers — a comprehensive, cloud-based management solution that tracks and monitors printer utilization, ink usage, and substrates, giving display graphics providers more capabilities to optimize their operations.
VUTEk h series
The EFI VUTEk h series is a high-end production platform built from the ground up to deliver higher productivity, print quality, reliability, capability, and profits. The series’ new, high-velocity 7-picoliter UltraDrop Technology grayscale printhead imaging delivers precision dot placement and consistency. The series offers eight colors plus white, and an up to nine-layer print capability.
The new X4 Technology mode on the VUTEk h5 printer is a breakthrough in four-color production printing. With X4, users can achieve high-quality graphics at superior productivity, running up to 109 3.9x7.9' boards per hour in a CMYK x 2 configuration. The VUTEk h5 is available direct from EFI or as field upgrade to the VUTEk h3 printer, which can produce up to 74 boards per hour in X4 mode.
More application possibilities
Responding to market requests, the EFI Pro 30f flatbed printer is making its North American debut at PRINTING United. It has a large 120x79" bed, and is the first EFI printer to give users the ability to print on media up to four inches thick. It provides commercial printers and sign shops with more application possibilities, with four colors plus dual channels of white standard and multi-layer printing. The printer also features EFI UltraDrop Technology with variable grayscale 7-21 picoliter imaging for precision dot placement, and better color gradients and smoothing capability.
The printer includes a new intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) to better manage the layout of media on the flatbed. The GUI enables easier nesting and set-up for double-sided applications. It also features an EFI Fiery proServer Core DFE with FAST RIP acceleration technology.
Additional printers in EFI’s booth include the EFI VUTEk 3r+, a best-in-class LED roll-to-roll printer offering even higher throughput, image quality, and efficiency. Attendees can also see the company’s latest advancement for the soft-signage market: the EFI VUTEk FabriVU 340i, an aqueous dispersed dye-sublimation printer offering in-line calendering at fast production speeds.
The EFI H1625 SD printer in EFI’s booth provides opportunities to expand into wider-margin specialized display applications with award-winning technology for printing direct to formable substrates. The digital efficiencies of the 65"-wide EFI H1625 SD model make direct print thermoforming easier while offering near-photographic quality.
Scalable workflows
Unlike any other offering available from a single vendor, EFI provides complete workflows that enable seamless communication between the printer, DFE, and MIS/ERP technologies, giving users the power to make data-driven decisions that boost their bottom line.
The latest version EFI Fiery digital front ends (DFEs) for wide- and superwide-format production on display offer unified print job management with Fiery Command WorkStation for mixed print technology environments.
And the latest version of the EFI Midmarket Print Productivity Suite workflow is a comprehensive solution addressing display graphics providers’ unique needs. Customers can further their productivity — eliminating touchpoints, as well as increasing efficiencies and margins — by integrating their Fiery DFEs and VUTEk printers with the Suite. From eCommerce and job submission through shipping, the workflow gives display graphics professionals critical control and visibility of their business.
