DuPont will highlight the color of things to come in digital printing during the PRINTING United Expo from October 18-20 in Atlanta, Georgia. One of the most dynamic and comprehensive events in printing, the expo brings together the printing community to experience the latest technologies and applications in one place, with several live demos and product launches.
The DuPont team will display its Artistri digital inkjet ink offerings in the Textile, Commercial, and Packaging applications at its booth C553 including the Artistri P1600 direct-to-film (DTF) pigment ink set, recently launched at the ITMA Milan in Italy. Artistri P1600 inks are ideal for DTF printers looking for a professionally printed product with consistent, vibrant colors on a variety of fabrics.
Robert Simpson, Americas Business Leader for DuPont Artistri Digital Inks, said, “Garment decorators will benefit from brightly printed fabrics while contributing to their brands’ sustainability goals as the Artistri P1600 were formulated using safer-by-design principles to assess and evaluate potential health and environmental risks. They are classified as non-hazardous under US GHS (Globally Harmonized System) and are made without intentional introductions of HAPS (hazardous air pollutants). All this is possible through our extensive ink formulation know-how, in combination with our best-in-class product stewardship and manufacturing to offer a compatible and reliable product that takes the quality of DTF printing to the next level.”
During the show, visitors will get to experience the print performance of Artistri Digital Inks through a collaboration with Cobraflex, which will have a DTF printer up and running at the Artistri booth throughout the event. On the direct-to-garment (DTG) side, DuPont is partnering with ROQ and will join live demos at their booth (#C747) exploring the ROQ NOW. ROQ will be printing live during the show using Artistri water-based DTG pigment inks combined with Artistri pretreatment and color-protect chemistries. An industry expert from the Artistri team, Scott Donovan, will also join ROQ to discuss advancements in digital inks that offer best-in-class opacity, and stretchability in two panels during the show dedicated to apparel printing.
Sustainability is core to DuPont’s innovation strategy and at the booth the DuPont team will display beautiful design samples on sustainable printed fabrics from Greentex and Artistri water-based pigment inks. The company supplies fabrics produced with polyester PCR (post-consumption resin), a result of the collection and recycling of PET bottles, that were printed later with Artistri water-based pigment inks. “This combination delivers a lower environmental footprint as the pigment printing process uses less energy and less water compared to other types of digital textile inks,” explains Gabriela Kim, Global Marketing Manager for Artistri Digital Inks.
Kim adds, “We are committed to developing ink innovations that support sustainability in textile printing. Since our pigment inks are granted the OEKO-TEX ECO PASSPORT certification, with ZDHC MRSL Conformance Level 3, as well as the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification, it helps enable safer work environments for textile printers. DuPont’s new ink developments strengthen our commitment to pigment inks as the sustainable choice and our vision for the future of textile digital printing.”
For the Commercial and Packaging segments, DuPont Artistri digital ink technologies cover a wide range of applications: from book printing, general commercial, corrugated, and other packaging applications. Delivering brilliant and durable image quality while enabling consistent jetting reliability, DuPont will display multiple ink options to address specific application needs.
