As customization becomes a more important part of printing, it’s crucial to understand how it works in this business. The 2018 SGIA Expo will have a presentation explaining customization in the UV market. Jay Roberts, Product Manager at Roland DGA Corporation (Booth 1137), will host it today at 1:30 pm in room N119.
Three of the main things that the session will go over are customization, transformation and using white and gloss inks. The customization section will go over why it is important and how it can increase the value of print projects. The transformation section will discuss how transforming basic objects can be valuable to a print house. The white and gloss inks section will discuss how the inks can boost sales.
“Customization and personalization are greater markets than mass production,” Roberts says. “The ability to create unique, one-of-a-kind gifts is a far greater, more effective selling source for our customers.”
Roberts believes that many businesses can benefit from customizing more of their products. The personalization of items can leave a longer lasting impression on a customer and encourage them to purchase from them more. The new printing technology that allows this customization can assist a company to grow and succeed.
“We have seen the LEF printer series greatly impact the market in both the POP market and boutique printing as customers continue to promote personalization onto objects,” Roberts says. “The immediacy of printing can be promoted as well and can be promoted in conjunction with personalization.”
