Cober, with headquarters in Kitchener Ontario, announces its acquisition of Alberta based West Canadian Digital Imaging (WCD) digital print and wide-format signage division. This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone in Cober’s history and reinforces its commitment to delivering brand solutions nationwide.
This acquisition will provide their collective customer base the ability to print and fulfill to over 80% of the Canadian population in a cost effective, timely manner while also significantly reducing the emissions produced through cross country shipping.
"We are thrilled to welcome WCD’s print and signage Teams into the Cober family," said Todd Cober, President. “WCD’s exceptional talent and production capabilities will further enhance our ability to support our National customers, and we are truly excited for this next chapter of growth. With this investment we will now be able to offer our collective customer base the competitive advantage of cost effective, timely and sustainable shipping. I would also like to thank the Brookman family. I am very cognizant as to how much this portion of the business means to them and I do not take the trust that they are putting into our Team lightly.”
The acquisition will bring together two highly respected companies in the industry to create a world class national integrated print and fulfillment network. With close to 80 talented Team members joining Cober to support the Western Canada facility, Cober will further extend its reach nationwide.
“This is a significant moment in the history of WCD. In Cober we have found the perfect company with shared values and culture to take the deeply valued and long-standing print and signage division of our company to a new level,” says Karen Brookman, President & CEO of WCD. “This marks a pivotal milestone in WCD’s journey and is a critical next step to realizing our vision to be a technology-led Managed Services company. As WCD moves forward, we will be focusing on emerging technologies and innovative solutions with the added benefit of leveraging Cober’s newly established national footprint with world class capability and increased capacity. This is a strategic opportunity that truly benefits all parties involved.”
Both Cober and WCD are businesses built on family, who share complimentary operational processes, workflows, equipment and technology. This acquisition will enable a fully integrated, streamlined fulfillment offering to partners across the globe, including large e-commerce brands as well as national commercial print customers.
