Designed to offer high-quality color scanning and affordable color and monochrome wide-format technology, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is excited to announce the addition of the Colortrac SC 42c Xpress scanner to its large-format offering. This large-format scanner adds a 42-inch stand-alone option to Canon’s current line of multi-function Scan-to-copy/file printer solutions.
The Colortrac SC 42c Xpress scanner is equipped with features to benefit users across a variety of industries, including architecture, federal government and manufacturing. To help its customers meet tight deadlines and everyday scanning tasks, this solution is built to deliver fast speeds at up to 200 dpi, scanning in 24-bit color scans at up to 6 inches per second, and up to 13 inches in monochrome. This solution can also scan documents up to 42 inches wide.
Additional standard features offered through this solution include Colortrac’s SingleSensor Technology, which combines CIS imaging technology and LEDs in a single line for maximum scan accuracy and optimal illumination, and the SmartWorks TOUCH Software, which allows users to scan, copy, print, or scan to email with full image preview and edit control. These features can provide customers with an efficient, single screen interface that conveniently groups all controls and scanner information in one place.
Through its advanced document enhancement, this solution can be ideal to scan a variety of documents, including those which are technical, historical or even graphic design. While hard copies of historic documents and maps tend to deteriorate with age, scanning these documents converts the content into a digital format. The document can then be enhanced to remove artifacts and clarify images, helping to make these old documents easier to read and handle, without risk of further deterioration to the original.
“Canon continues to expand its large format offering to specifically meet current customer demands, and the addition of the Colortrac SC 42C Xpress scanner to the company’s line-up serves as a prime example,” said Fred Pagani, Global Scanning Americas, Inc. “We’re happy to work with Canon to bring this solution to the market in hopes it will help businesses support their customers as they navigate through the new normal.”
As an added convenience, for those who already own a Canon imagePROGRAF large format printer, the scanner can be paired with certain compatible devices to create a multifunction printer (MFP) system. For users who require more than 36-inch scans, the SC 42c Xpress can provide output of up to 42 inches wide, without losing speed or quality.
