Bodaq Interior Finishes, an architectural film manufactured by Hyundai, made its North American trade show debut at The PRINTING United Expo. The non-toxic film can be applied to various surfaces, from walls and ceilings to doors, furniture, and boats — even kitchen cabinets — to create unique interior environments cost-effectively. Bodaq’s self-adhesive backing and easily formed vinyl surface material is adaptable to complex shapes and surfaces.
There are more than 500 patterns available, which imitate different types of surfaces, including stone, marble, wood, paint, metal, and fabric, said James Carpenter, project manager for Nelcos Group, which distributes the film in North America. It’s fully fire-proof, durable, waterproof, scratch resistant, and has a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty, he added.
Bodaq is a relative newcomer to the North American market, having arrived just three years ago. However, for the past 15 years, it’s been a popular finishing solution in the Asia and European markets.
“We’re getting really good traction here at the show,” Carpenter said. “It’s great to meet people familiar with similar products in the market realize that there are some new options for them. And the fact that we don’t have any supply chain issues is a big plus — when installers or contractors order from us, we’re usually able to get it to them within a week.”
