Banding On the Run
One of the perennial output problems inherent to inkjet printing has been banding. Inkjet banding can be caused by any number of key elements within and without an output device: the environment, electrical components, UV lamp life, media, ink fluid dynamics, RIP settings, print-head voltages and many more. Banding can also be the result of a combination of factors.
If you wrestle often with the issue of banding in your inkjet’s device output, be sure to join Nazdar’s Travis Barcelona for “Inkjet Banding: Identification and Root Cause Analysis,” to be held today from 2:30 to 3:45 pm, in Room 333. In this session, you’ll look through the eyes of an inkjet hardware technician who is well-versed in all aspects of inkjet equipment repair, workflow, media manufacturing
and ink chemistry to learn how to identify where the problem lies and what steps you can take to resolve it. No matter if you have solvent, aqueous or UV inkjet equipment, you’ll learn how to troubleshoot your printer and to run banding-free.
Barcelona has been in the printing industry for more than 25 years and has a technical background in screen printing and inkjet technology. He holds service certifications for several wide- and grand-format inkjet brands, along with certifications for most of the major RIP software programs. Barcelona is a G7 certified expert and teaches courses in color management and inkjet technology at SGIA, colleges, in the office and at customer locations. He understands all principles of inkjet printing from data processing, color management, media, ink chemistry, equipment operation, UV technology, and fluid dynamics, amongst other topics that relate to the inkjet printing process.
